Congratulations to the
Recipients of RWC's 2024 Youth Scholarships. Since our incorporation in 2012, the RWC has awarded over $60,000 in scholarships. Thank you for your continued support of our mission to promote community fellowship and provide educational support. Please donate to our monthly RWC Giving Circle. A Giving Circle is a group of individuals who pool their philanthropic money to make a larger difference. Come join us in making a difference for local youths.
The 2024 RWC Scholarship Recipients:
Denver Codner
Denver Codner graduated from Sumner High School where she served as Drum Major for the marching band. She will be attending the University of Central Florida majoring in hospitality with plans to continue her education by attending Law School.
Sean Falvey
Sean Falvey is a leader in agricultural pursuits in Riverview High School through the agriculture program and through Future Farmers of America and 4H. He plans to pursue a degree in agriculture communications and education to become an agriculture teacher. Sean will be attending Hillsborough Community College.
Kourtnee Gray - Not Pictured
Kourtnee Gray graduated from Lennard High School's prestigious Collegiate Academy along with receiving her Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College. She has been involved in Varsity Track and Soccer as team captain. Her plans are to study Bio-chemistry and Bio-medical engineering. Kourtnee aspires to attend medical school to become a cardiologist or a cardiothoracic surgeon. She will be attending Florida State University.
Sophia Garcia Lilo
Sophia Garcia Lilo, while at Sumner HS, led Latinos in Action as club president. She was sponsored by the League of United Latin American Citizens in Washington D.C. to learn about the federal government and other subjects related to diversity and leadership. Sophia will be attending the University of Florida to major in business management and economics.
Aliha Parshad
Alisha Parshad served over 120 volunteer hours during her 4 years in Riverview High School and as Captain of the Varsity Golf team, she embodies what it means to be a successful woman today. Alisha will be attending the University of Central Florida.
Alyssa Wheeldon - not pictured
Alyssa Wheeldon graduated from East Bay High School. She is a scholar, an athlete, an award recipient, and a leader in many extra-curricular activities. She served as editor-in-chief of the yearbook for two years as well as Varsity Cheer Captain. She plans to attend the University of Florida majoring in Political Science followed by Law School.
Angel Montejo - not pictured
Angel Montejo was awarded the PF Auto Glass and Impact Taekwondo scholarship. Angel "keeps the beat" in the Marching band as a percussionist. He will be pursuing his passion to be an automotive technician; he will help keep us all "movin' and groovin" on down the road. Angel graduated from Riverview HS and will be attending Erwin Technical College.
The Riverview Woman's Club is proud to partner with the Greater Riverview Chamber in their Dr. Earl J. Lennard Scholarship application process. Congratulations to the following 2024 Earl J. Lennard Scholarship Recipients:
David Frazier
David Frazier graduated from Lennard High School's prestigious Collegiate Academy and received his Associate of Arts degree from Hillsborough Community College. He will attend Florida State University, majoring in Political Science and Economics. He aims to become an attorney and to serve his country as Judge Advocate General in the Navy.
Anais Degnan
Anais Degnan, a graduate of Riverview HS, prioritized education and community, as evidenced by her academic record, leadership roles, and community service. She plans to pursue a degree in agriculture to help teach the next generation to become more knowledgeable consumers. Anais will be attending Hillsborough Community College.
Valerie Dominguez
Valerie Dominguez is committed to serving both her community and school. Academically she ranked ninth her class at Sumner High School along with participation in the Cambridge AICE Program and dual enrollment at Hillsborough Community College. Valerie plans to attend the University of South Florida as a Medical Technology major

Omaris Ruiz-Rivera advanced from being non-English speaking to enrolling in English Honors classes. A Chorus Leadership Council member, Omaris is one of six students from East Bay HS chosen for the Hillsborough All-County Honor Choir. Omaris will be attending Hillsborough Community College to major in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
