Hot & Happening in Quarter 1

Updated: Mar 18, 2019

From left, Riverview Woman's Club members Julie Dahl, Shirley Bhat and Heather Michael are shown at the Riverview Chamber of Commerce's Golf Tournament on March 2, one of several social, fundraising and networking events the RWC participated in during the first Quarter of 2019.

Networking Event: Annual Riverview Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament

On March 2, 2019, club members had a blast participating in the annual Riverview Chamber Golf Tournament held at the Summerfield Crossings Golf Club in Riverview. With the Riverview Woman’s Club booth strategically located on Hole 16, golfers had a special treat (jello shots!) prepared by RWC’ers who merrily cheered them on their way. At our booth, our new colorful RWC banner reminded all of who we are and all the great things we are doing in the community. 'Betting' on the Races - great fun for a great cause

Fundraising Event: Night at the Races

“Soooo much fun! Great décor, DELICIOUS food, awesome prize baskets and the BEST company,” is how Carol Mello described Night at the Races 2019, a Riverview Woman’s Club Foundation event. It was held Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 at the Summerfield Crossings Golf Club House in Riverview.

The event is one of several held by the Club each year to raise funds for deserving community organizations and projects, including providing scholarships to Riverview area high school seniors pursing higher education.

Dressed in their finest Derby garb—including fabulous hats worn by the ladies—guests were treated to a yummy buffet dinner followed by Racing Fun on the big screen. Some participants purchased and named their own horses while others placed ‘wagers” on each race which gave them the opportunity to win fabulous baskets with a wide variety of items and raffle prizes -- all donated by generous sponsors.

Social Event: 'Bunco Night' Riverview Woman’s Club members and their guests gathered on Jan. 23, 2019 for ‘Bunco Night.' Bunco is a social dice game involving 100% luck and a simple set of rules. A great time was had by all with all proceeds benefiting the RWC Foundation and its local causes.
